SPRING CLEANING FOR YOUR WHOLE BODY

Healthy eating isn't just about weight loss, it's also your key to increased energy, better rest, improved memory, beautiful skin, disease prevention, and anti-aging! CHANGE OF SEASONS GREAT TIME FOR A NUTRITIONAL CLEANSE

A dietary cleanse is a natural and effective way of detoxifying your organs and clarifying your body systems. Our high-stress, high-tech, inactive society produces many toxins: industrial by-products, second-hand smoke, insecticides, artificial food additives, alcohol, caffeine and heavy metals, among others. Our bodies are faced with the daunting task of processing and removing these toxins from our systems on a daily basis. It's sometimes hard for our bodies to keep up with the amount of toxins we take in, especially when we are under stress.

If you're a smoker, under stress, work in a toxic environment, take medications, or have never done a cleanse before, you may benefit from a cleanse. There are several cleanses that a person can do, depending on your body's specific requirements. Each person is a biochemical individual, and has different needs.

An effective cleanse could be ten days in length, but some people may need to continue for up to six weeks, under the care of a qualified health professional. A dietary cleanse may not be for everyone, and it is not recommended to try it without the aid of a qualified health professional.

RECIPE CLUB : "GORP" - a quick energy snack!

  • 2 12 oz. pkgs. of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 8 oz. pkgs. butterscotch chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped dates
  • 1/2 cup seedless raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped dried apricots
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped cashews or pine nuts
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup wheat germ
  • 1/2 cup uncooked oatmeal

Mix dry ingredients together in large bowl. Melt chips in top of double boiler pot. Add honey. Pour over dry ingredients. Press into greased baking pan. Cool. Cut or break into pieces. Keep refrigerated.
